Full Stack Developer (PHP / Node.js / Javascript) - Part Time

Sonderplan.com is a resource scheduling SAAS that helps hundreds of companies and organisations to schedule their resources, staff and equipment all over the world. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced full stack developer to join our small but growing start-up (sonderplan.com) on a part-time / fixed term contract.

You’ll be working closely with the company founder and lead developer to implement new features. You’ll be highly motivated and excited to tackle some complicated challenges that require innovative solutions in a large and daunting code base.

What will you be doing?

• Develop and improve on existing features on both the frontend and backend, utilising Vanilla JS on the frontend and a mix of PHP / Node.js / MySQL on the backend.
• Maintain and improve our PHP / Phalcon REST API
• Assist with the setup of AWS Devops CI pipelines
• Write unit and API tests for backend code

What skills and experience do you need?

• At least 3 years experience in working with primarily backend PHP code, with a large codebase and highly bespoke web application
• At least 2 years experience working on front end code, Vanilla Javascript, HTML, CSS
• Experience working with Docker development environments, based around a microservice architecture
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS)
• Be highly motivated and able to work autonomously
• Have a genuine excitement in solving complicated challenges for actual clients in the real world

Nice to have

• System integration experience with developing ‘middleware’ between REST API’s

Location

The position is remote based, to developers based in Australia only. Ideally you’ll be based close to the NSW Central Coast to allow for the occasional in person catch-ups.
